Once underway the postseason format is based on number of fish caught and not points.
At the conclusion of the regular season (World Sailfish Championship - April), the top 5 teams based on points shall be guaranteed a birth into the postseason playoffs. The post season will be help in the 1st or second week of May.
Day 1: The remaining teams shall have the opportunity to complete for 1 Wildcard position into the playoffs. The 5 teams who have huaranteed playoff spots, will have a bye on this day.
Day 2: The 5 teams who earned their playoff spot and the Wildcard winner, shall compete in a head-to-head bracket system. 1st Seed (Team who earned most points during the season) shall compete with the 6th Seed (Wildcard winner), 2nd Seed shall compete against the 5th Seed, and the 3rd Seed will face the 4th Seed. Losers will be eliminated and not advance to the next round.
Day 3: The 3 winners of the Day 2 bracket system, shall compete on the third and final day in a single-day sudden death elimination tournament, in which the team with the most fish at lines out is declared the winner and Sailfish Pro Series Champion. |
